Fresh Code

Twelve years, two departments, systems people depend on

Since 2014 we have worked almost exclusively on UK central government services, where the cost of getting it wrong is measured in queues at the border or a missed contact with someone on probation. Both engagements involve operational data about real people, in environments where handling it correctly is not negotiable.

Home Office — Border Force

2014–2026, continuous · Contracted through Transform UK

Border Force has to staff passport control at international airports to match arrivals that change hour by hour. Understaff and queues build; overstaff and money is wasted.

Fresh Code conceived and delivered a dynamic response tool that turns scheduled flights and AI-predicted passenger numbers into forecast demand, so staffing matches the arrivals actually coming — and so future requirements can be planned rather than guessed.

We went on to cut the application's running cost by reducing the resources it consumed, while improving its stability.

Ministry of Justice — Probation Service

February 2026 – present · Contracted through TPXimpact

Supervision depends on routine, reliable contact between probation staff and the people on their caseload.

Fresh Code is delivering a tool to help the Probation Service maintain that contact.
